Fiji Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu said they cannot reveal the name of the high chief who is allegedly involved in the importation of a gun and about 600 rounds of ammunition.
He said at a press conference investigations are now underway into the matter.
The gun and ammunition arrived into Fiji on board MV Malau from Tonga last night.

In a social media post, he said the successful seizure of this yacht is testament to the collaborative efforts of “our dedicated men and women.” who work tirelessly to maintain the integrity of our borders and keep the people of Fiji safe.
“Vina’a va’alevu to all those involved in the successful operation,” said Rabuka.
“Together, we will work towards creating a future where efficiency, security, and prosperity are not just aspirations but tangible realities,” said Rabuka.
