The Fijiana Drua side will be out to defend their title at the 2023 Buildcorp Super W final against the Reds on Saturday in Townsville.

The Fijiana will have to dig deep this weekend after suffering a huge loss to the same side less than two weeks ago in their last pool game.

Head coach Inoke Male says they will be expecting a very physical final against the Reds, but are prepared to maintain their status as champions.

“The girls are ready to put their bodies on the line to defend their title and will do everything in their power to make sure they do so,” Male said.

He also mentioned that there would be a slight changes in their line-up against the Reds, as he will be naming his first 15 players today.

“We will be naming our starting line-up on Thursday, and you can expect a slight change to the team,” he said.

Male also confirmed that some players were carrying minor injuries which they sustained during their match against the Waratahs last Sunday.

However, Male also was quick to say the injuries were not serious.

“Just a few small cramps here and there. But apart from that, the girls are training well here in Australia.”

The defence will be key for the Fijiana Drua this weekend, as the aim is to contain the attacks from the Reds’ lively backline.

“We will need to tighten our defence this weekend, as the Reds have a very strong backline who will pounce on any given opportunity.”

The Fijiana Drua will face the Reds this Saturday at 6.45pm at the Queensland Country Bank Stadium.
