China is willing to strengthen mutual support with Nauru on issues involving each other’s core interests and major concerns.

China supports capable Chinese companies to invest in Nauru, and is ready to deepen cooperation in such fields as infrastructure construction, transportation, tourism and health under the framework of Belt and Road cooperation, and help Nauru continuously boost internal momentum for development.

The two sides should strengthen exchanges in localities, youth and other areas, and consolidate the foundation of public support for bilateral cooperation.

China is ready to work with Nauru to jointly promote full and effective implementation of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and its Paris Agreement, strengthen mutual support and coordination within multilateral mechanisms such as the United Nations and Pacific Islands Forum, and jointly safeguard the common interest of developing countries.

David Adeang said that Nauru promises to adhere to the one-China principle, supports China’s peaceful reunification, highly appreciates China’s adherence to the principles of mutual respect and equality, and is committed to promoting international peace and cooperation.

Nauru is willing to tighten the bond of friendship and cooperation with China, strengthen cooperation in areas including trade, infrastructure construction, climate change response, sustainable development, health, tourism, education and people-to-people and cultural exchanges, as well as multilateral coordination, and usher in a new era of common development and prosperity for Nauru and China.
