“Hold your heads high”.

This was the message by the President Ratu Wiliame Maivalili Katonivere to the Flying Fijians team after their 32-26 loss to Wales in the Rugby World Cup 2023 group stages.

President Katonivere said the team played a hard fought game and he was proud of their performance.

“This is just the first game, do not give up, because Fiji still believes in you!”.

His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales also visited the Fiji camp and said the team had given the Welsh team a hard fought match, and wished them luck in their next game against Australia.

Meanwhile, the Minister for Youth and Sports, Jese Saukuru, takes immense pride in congratulating the Flying Fijians for their exceptional performance in the opening match of the 2023 Rugby World Cup against Wales.

Despite the unfortunate 32-26 loss, the Flying Fijians poured their heart and soul into the game, leaving a lasting impression on everyone. Their extraordinary display of talent, commitment, and unwavering dedication has deeply resonated with the Fijian people.
