OACPS SG wishes Fiji well during the election

The Secretary General of the Organisation of the African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS), Georges Rebelo Chikoti has offered his well wishes to the people of Fiji ahead of the Pacific nation’s general election next Wednesday,

Fiji will go to the polls on 14 December to elect a new government to lead the country in the next four years.

Ruling FijiFirst Party led by Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama is seeking another term in office but is facing stiff challenges from Opposition parties trying to unseat him.

“Well, I wish the people of Fiji well and wish them a good election.

“May they choose the best candidate to lead the country,” SG Chikoti told PACNEWS in a press conference at the margins of the Summit of OACPS Head of State and Government in Angola.

The Multinational Observer Group (MOG) will monitor the upcoming 2022 General Elections including a team from the Melanesian Spearhead Group (MSG) Secretariat
