Bmobile provides MASI with $60k worth of Communication support to hosting Pacific Media Summit

The Media Association of Solomon Islands (MASI) received communication support from telecommunication provider, Bmobile to successfully host the Pacific Media Summit (PMS) which was scheduled to take place in Honiara from 26 -30 September 2022.

Bmobile will be the official communication partner to the 6th Pacific Media Summit and will offer communication support for delegates and organising committee.

The support includes SMS broadcasts, communication support for delegates and organising committee, free wifi and merchandise packs.

Speaking at a media conference in Honiara, Bmobile Interim Country Manager Devan Kula said Bmobile recognises the role of media in Solomon Islands.

“Bmobile Solomon Islands recognises the importance of the role of the media in ensuring the public is well informed on all that is happening. With the theme of ‘the Digital Revolution-Transforming Threats into Opportunities for the Pacific Media,’ bmobile feels that it must support this important summit as it is a medium for digital access for the public,’’ Kula said.

Meanwhile, MASI Vice President Douglas Marau acknowledged bmobile for the support.

Marau said MASI and and the Pacific Islands News Association (PINA) as the Co-host really values the partnership as it will provide reliable communication support to delegates and participants.

“We really appreciate the partnership with bmobile. This is the biggest support to be received by MASI since COVID and it is an opportunity for us to also invite our regional friends into the country after the international lockdowns,” Marau said.

The MASI Vice President also acknowledged bmobile for recognising the role of media in ensuring the public is well informed on all that is happening.
