Fijian winger Eroni Sau was suspended for five matches for his red card against Wales in Cardiff.

Sau was sent off Sunday for striking the head of Johnny Williams with a swinging arm midway through the first half. Fiji was leading at the time. It eventually lost 38-23.

Sau disagreed at his disciplinary hearing on Tuesday that he committed foul play, but the panel upheld the red card.

The panel on Wednesday ruled him out of Fiji’s last European tour match against Georgia this Saturday outside Madrid, and the next four matches of his French club Provence. However, he can substitute the last Provence match he’s scheduled to miss on 17 December for a coaching course on head contact prevention.
