Fiji’s Ministry of Fisheries held productive discussions with Tuvalu Fisheries last Friday to explore access arrangements that will secure tuna raw materials essential for Fiji’s processing industry.

The bilateral meeting aim to address the current shortfall of raw materials faced by Fiji’s tuna processing company, PAFCO.

This discussions part of ongoing efforts to strengthen regional cooperation and ensure a stable supply of tuna, which is vital for the sustainability and growth of Fiji’s fisheries sector.

By fostering stronger partnerships with neighbouring countries like Tuvalu, Fiji aims to support its processing establishments and maintain its position as a key player in the Pacific tuna industry.
