Cook Islands Prime Minister, Mark Brown has congratulated Dave Rennie on his appointment as Head Coach of the All Blacks, describing it as a historic moment for Pacific peoples.
“Congratulations to Dave Rennie on your appointment as Head Coach of the All Blacks,” PM Brown wrote in a social media post.
“As a son of Takitumu he carries our Cook Islands heritage with him, and now he makes history as the first Pacific peoples coach to lead the All Blacks.
“As Patron of the Cook Islands Rugby Union, I know how powerful this moment is for our young players. When they see one of our own standing at the helm of the All Blacks, they see what is possible.
“Dave, we stand behind you. The Cook Islands is proud of you.
Kia Toa e Kia Manuia,” said PM Brown.
