The 55th Pacific Islands Forum Leaders Meeting (PIFLM) will be held from 30 August to 04 September 2026 in Palau under the theme – Building Economies: Life. Action. Unity (BELAU).
Marking a key milestone in preparations, the President of Palau, Surangel Whipps Jr, signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Hosting Arrangements with the Secretary General of the Pacific Islands Forum, Baron Divavesi Waqa.
The signing formalises Palau’s role as host and reflects the region’s collective commitment to deliver a Leaders Meeting that advances shared strategic priorities, strengthens unity, and promotes sustainable and inclusive growth across the Blue Pacific Continent.
The annual Leaders Meeting is the premier political decision-making body of the Forum, bringing together heads of government from across the Pacific to set the region’s policy direction.
