Pacific Foreign Ministers will gather in Suva this Thursday 14 August, for the 2025 Forum Foreign Ministers Meeting (FFMM), the final ministerial meeting in a suite of meetings, before Forum Leaders in Honiara, next month.

The meeting will bring together Ministers from across the Forum membership to consider the work undertaken on the implementation of the 2050 Strategy, the Review of the Regional Architecture, and the ongoing reforms to the Forum’s partnership mechanism, amongst others.

In line with the theme for the 54th Pacific Islands Forum, “Iumi Together: Act Now for an Integrated Blue Pacific Continent”, Foreign Ministers will consider the region’s ongoing efforts to strengthen and deepen Pacific regionalism, in the face of intensifying geopolitical competition in the region.

This year’s FFMM will be chaired by the Crown Prince of Tonga, Tupoutoʻa ʻUlukalala – Tonga’s Minister for Foreign Affairs.

The meeting is highly anticipated due to the important decisions Ministers will make on political cohesion, security, climate action, and economic development, ahead of the Leaders’ Meeting.

Earlier in the week, Forum Officials met for the Pre-Forum Session of the Forum Officials Committee Meeting, which refined and endorsed recommendations on key issues that will inform the 2025 Forum Foreign Ministers Meeting.
