The head of the Commonwealth and Britain’s monarch King Charles III will arrive in Samoa on 25 October, towards the end of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM).
The police have also confirmed the areas from Mulinuu where the School of Maritime is up to Matautu where Taumeasina is has been dubbed the CHOGM Peninsula.
This was confirmed by Police Commissioner Auapaau Logoitino Filipo at a press conference on Monday.
He said some portions of the CHOGM Peninsula would be closed off to the public and only those accredited would access these areas.
He said the police will take full responsibility for the safety of guests and this was one of the reasons for creating the special zones.
The CHOGM starts on 21 October and ends on 26 October. More than 4,000 people will be part of the conference and three monarchs including King Charles have confirmed attendance.
As part of his visit, King Charles also requested an audience with the villagers of Siumu.
The security operation included a multi-national policing effort.
Samoa Police will have joined by Australia, New Zealand and Fiji counterparts. Each top delegate would also bring their security entourage as well.
The Australian Navy will also bring in a naval ship to patrol the borders while there is an expectation that the United States might also do the same.
