Football, Basketball, Volleyball, Tennis and Table Tennis are among the first to kick off sports competitions at this year’s 2023 Pacific Games in Honiara.

According to the recently released Games Sports Schedule, all five sports will start Thursday 17 November, two days prior to the Games Opening Ceremony.

Football competitions will kick off at Lawson Tama and the new SIFF Academy Games venues.

Basketball and Volleyball competitions will take place at the Friendship Hall. Tennis competitions will be held at the National Tennis Centre at Sports City, whilst Table Tennis will take place at the Honiara City Council (HCC) Arena.

Basketball, Volleyball and Table Tennis conclude their competitions on 25th November, whilst Tennis and Football wrap up their competitions on 1st and 2nd of December respectively.

“Most of these sports competitions will begin in the morning till late afternoon – from 9am till 10pm. This also includes Thursday 18th November – a day before the Grand Opening Ceremony,” Golden Kiloko, the GOC’s Sports Schedule, Integration and Sports Presenters Manager revealed this week.
