Flying Fijians Head Coach Simon Raiwalui said a decision would be made in regard to star flanker Peceli Yato and the situation surrounding his surprise exit from the Rugby World Cup squad later this week.

Raiwalui said he had met with Yato and talks were on-going.

“I had a chance to meet with Peceli we will go through that and make a decision by the end of this week,” Raiwalui told FijiLive.

There has been a lot of public out-cry since Yato’s departure, with fans hoping for the key back rower to return.

Yato had removed himself from the Flying Fijians camp last week Monday, with circumstances unclear as to why.

“We are still reviewing what happened.” Raiwalui said.

Meanwhile, Raiwalui said Flying Fijians re expecting a very tough Samoan team as they have got a great squad with a number of players staying back to prepare for this match.

Raiwalui stated they understand the quality of the Samoan side.

He said with them being well coached, it is going to be a huge challenge, but they are looking forward to it.

He further says they are a big physical pack very good in the set-piece and they have quality across the field.

The coach said they are into their fourth week of camp and preparation is coming along well.

He further said they are in their preparation phase at the moment where they are pushing them as far as they can physically, putting them to their limits to see where they can get them to.

When fijivillage News questioned him if there are clubs that are holding players back, Raiwalui said no, as all clubs have been supportive.

Raiwalui said Api Ratuniyarawa is a different case but they have had total support from the clubs.

He said they are not looking to bring anyone new into the squad at the moment but they will have a few debutants this weekend.
