Tonga’s national rugby team, ‘Ikale Tahi, is training hard ahead of its match against Australia A on home soil on Friday, 14 July, at Teufaiva Stadium.
The strong team of rugby players who arrived last week, held an open training session on Friday, 7 July, and in support of Child Cancer, delighted young fans when they met them and signed autographs at the stadium.
The team continues their preparation and training this week ahead of Friday’s game, which is sure to electrify local rugby fans.
The match marks a special occasion. ‘Ikale Tahi vs Australia A celebrates the 50th anniversary of the 1973 ‘Ikale Tahi team that defeated the Wallabies in Brisbane.
The match is also part team’s preparation for the 2023 Rugby World Cup in France, which starts in September.
