Fiji’s Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka has appointed two new ministers and an assistant minister, with a swearing-in ceremony scheduled for today.

“I have taken a decision to appoint two new Ministers to my Cabinet, and also a new Assistant Minister,” PM Rabuka said in a statement.

Lynda Tabuya will take over as Minister for Information, a portfolio currently held by Rabuka himself.

“She is well-suited to spearhead the government’s public relations machinery through the Ministry of Information,” he said.

Tomasi Tunabuna has been elevated to Minister for Agriculture, replacing Alitia Bainivalu, who had been acting in the role since the passing of the late Vatimi Rayalu.

“He has been an effective Assistant Minister in the Ministry,” Rabuka said of Tunabuna.

Inosi Kuridrani has been named Assistant Minister for Agriculture.

“These appointments will come into effect following the swearing-in ceremony by the President,05 August 2025,” Rabuka confirmed.
