Former Solomon Islands men’s national football team coach Filipe Vega Aranga has taken over the role of head coach for PNG men’s team after the termination of Warren Moon.

This was announced at PNGFA head office in Port Moresby by president John Kapi Natto and general Secretary Gordon Manub.

Kapi Natto said then coach Moon’s terminations because he refused to relocate up to Port Moresby and prepare the team for the upcoming OFC FIFA qualifiers in October.

Therefore, the Spaniard will arrive in the country in around 10 -11 August, 2024 to take over the role.

“Termination of Warren Moon has been taken to the committee members, before the 11 of July we had an executive member (meeting) and we made a decision that Warren, we terminate your contract with PNGFA,” Kapi Natto said.
