Fiji’s deputy Prime Minister Manoa Kamikamica has issued a blunt warning to those within the ruling party People’s Alliance (PAP) contemplating a split, urging them to resign immediately if they can’t stand behind Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka.
“My message to those that wish to form their own party is simple—resign immediately! Leave now and don’t let that door hit you on the way out,” Kamikamica said in a statement.
He stressed that dissenters were disrespecting the sacrifices made to secure Fiji’s democratic stability.
“To them I say, you have no respect for the sacrifices we’ve made in trying to secure stability for our democracy.
“You’ve shown no respect for the tens of thousands of Fijians that cast their vote because they believed in the Prime Minister and the Peoples Alliance vision.
“”Let me be crystal clear—there is no room for instability, no room for personal agendas that work against the unity of our nation,” he stressed.
Kamikamica made it clear that any attempts to destabilise the government or party would be met with unwavering resolve.
“To those keyboard warriors and rumour-mongers, good luck and goodbye,” he fired back.
The deputy PM reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring Fiji remains stable and prosperous.
“We are committed to ensuring that Fiji remains a stable and prosperous nation for generations to come.
“The work we are doing now is laying the groundwork for economic growth, social unity, and a stronger future. We will not allow anyone to derail that vision.
“Together, we will move forward. Together, we will build the Fiji we all deserve,” he said.
