Fiji 7s legend Waisale Serevi is currently admitted in India with chest pains.
Serevi, who is the head coach of the India men’s and women’s 7s team and guided the women to win a silver medal at the Asia Rugby Emirates Sevens Trophy in Nepal was rushed to hospital on 10 October.
Rugby India in a social media post stated: “We wish our 7s Head Coach, Waisale Serevi, all the very best in his recovery. We shall provide another update in 24 hours from now.”
“For now he is stable and in excellent spirits.”
Manipal Hospital where Serevi is admitted in its report said his coronary angiogram revealed minor coronary artery disease.
The hospital said he is stable for now and will be shifted out from ICU tomorrow.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka has sent his warmest wishes to Serevi, for a swift and full recovery.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family. Get well soon,” he said.
