Osea Kolinisau has been confirmed to continue as the head coach of the Fiji 7s team for the next four years, leading up to the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics.
The announcement comes after thorough discussions involving coaches, team managers, and captains, complemented by an independent review.
FRU Interim Chairman Peter Mazey said Kolinisau’s impressive results over the past four months have demonstrated his capability and vision for the future.
“He has major plans moving forward, which he will share in due course. We are excited about the potential of our men’s Sevens team under his continued leadership and are committed to pursuing gold at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics,” said Mazey.
Meanwhile, Saiasi Fuli’s tenure as the head coach of the Fiji women’s 7s team is set to conclude in December 2024.
FRU Interim Chairman Peter Mazey revealed that after fruitful discussions with Coach Fuli, the decision has been made to open the coaching position for applications to ensure the best leadership for the team’s forthcoming challenges.
The new coach will tasked to initiate and implement a High Performance Strategy moving forward and selection of the Team for the upcoming HSBC 7s series programme.
