The Forum Fisheries Agency (FFA) has proudly announced its achievement of the ISO 27001 certification, an international standard for managing information security.

This milestone emphasised the agency’s commitment to safeguarding the data and information of its Secretariat and member states.

“We are pleased to share that Forum Fisheries Agency (FFA) has achieved the ISO 27001 certification,” the FFA said.

“This marks a significant upgrade in our ongoing commitment toward the security of the FFA Secretariat and our Members’ data and information.”

The certification process, led by the FFA’s ICT department, took two years of dedicated effort.

“Our teams, led by the ICT department, had worked tirelessly over the past two years to ensure this milestone,” the FFA said.

ISO 27001 provides a framework for establishing, implementing, maintaining, and continually improving an information security management system (ISMS). It ensures that organisations have established methodologies and a framework for business and IT processes to help identify, manage, and reduce risks to information security.

The certification highlights the FFA’s dedication to several key objectives:

*Safeguarding FFA information assets.
*Reducing the risk of data breaches.
* Upgrading internal processes and operational efficiency.
