Flying Fijians have many options in the midfield and one was tested over the weekend against Tonga in the Punjas Pacific Battle.
Josua Tuisova and captain Waisea Nayacalevu showed what they can do as a pair and was tough to handle throughout the match.
Vilimoni Botitu, Seta Tamanivalu, Semi Radradra, Kalaveti Ravouvou, Iosefo Masi and Sireli Maqala will also be tested at inside and outside center in the Pacific Battle plus the France and England Tests.
Coach Simon Raiwalui said the first midfield pair delivered on Saturday.
“It was good, we did some good things, Josh got us over the game line, Wise directed us, Semi came on in the second half and created a lot of havoc out there, obviously it’s quite early and I got to go back and review the game and have a look at what happened but our initial thoughts are they did well”.
Meanwhile, number eight Albert Tuisue has again proven his class and Fiji Water Flying Fijians coach Simon Raiwalui is impressed with his work rate.
The Kadavu man worked tirelessly against Tonga with strong carries and getting the team over the advantage line plus his defense was sound.
After losing Peceli Yato and Api Ratuniyarawa, the national side is lucky to have Tuisue who can cover more than one position.
Coach Raiwalui said uisue is a versatile player.
“He played well gives us a lot of versatility he can play lock, six and eight, a good lineout forward and he played well, I think Viliame Mata came on and accelerated the game so we got some good options there.”
Tuisue is one of the leaders in the team and has been instrumental since their week one camp in Welagi village, Taveuni.
Flying Fijians will play Samoa in Apia at 12pm on Saturday while in another Pacific Battle match, Tonga faces Japan.
