The Leader of the Opposition, Bob Loughman, withdrew his motion of no confidence against Prime Minister, Ishmael Kalsakau this morning in parliament.

Loughman told parliament that the condition of the constitution was fulfilled when he deposited the motion last Thursday with 9 signatures and the Speaker of Parliament declared that it was in order.

He said that just last night, members of parliament who were behind the motion changed their minds.

Prime Minister Kalsakau said that government knew all along that the opposition did not have the numbers. The required number to topple a Prime Minister is 27 MPs among the total of 52 MPs in parliament.

This morning opposition only has the support of 15 MPs against 36 of the government side.
