Tropical Cyclone Vicky heading towards Niue

Niue could bear the brunt of the latest cyclone to develop in the Pacific.
 
Cyclone Vicky has just been named by the Fiji Met Service as a category one storm near the American Samoan capital of Pago Pago.
 
The cyclone was intensifying and moving east-southeast at 11km an hour with average winds of up to 65km/hr, and momentary gusts of up to 90km/hr.
 
By tomorrow morning, it is forecast to become a category two storm and pass near Niue's north coast late Saturday night.
 
Winds could gust up to 120km/hr and bring squally thunderstorms.
 
Mariners are warned to be ready for damaging gale force winds of up to 65 knots with rough to very rough seas.
