Now that a trans-Tasman bubble is close to happening, the Pacific Islands wants to know when we will be able to fly there.
Despite Fiji having hardly any Covid-19 cases, there seems to be no plans for a bubble with New Zealand anytime soon.
National leader Judith Collins said here are no reasons Pacific nations can’t form part of the bubble now.
President of the NZ Fiji Business Council Chandar Sen said that they were expecting to be included, and to not even be mentioned was “cruel” that a bubble with them was not mentioned.
“New Zealand businesses who have investments worth millions in Fiji need to be out there. They need to be face-to-face dialogue with business partners, that's how Pacific people do business.”
He said that if the government doesn't move now, New Zealand business people will miss out on opportunities over there.
Sen said that Fiji has gone over 350 days without community transmission.
